What Inspired you to start your business?
“As longtime friends and co-workers, we knew we shared a love of fashion. From our college days in the North Carolina mountains, to vacations in the Caribbean, to beginning adulthood in Atlanta, we had traveled many roads together. But sometimes to find the answer, it’s not about looking back to the roads you’ve been. Rather, it’s about looking forward to the road ahead. So, driven by the desire to turn that passion into a career, we decided to start this new adventure together.”
What advice would you give a student or aspiring entrepreneur?
“Constantly evolve with your clients and your industry. The fashion world is ever-changing, so being able to adapt and come up with innovative, client-centric solutions is key. Also, be patient. Achieving your dreams doesn’t happen overnight.”
How has social media influenced or helped your business? Do you have an example?
“As an online retailer, social media is a huge part of our business. Instagram has helped shape our brand identity, giving our customers a peek into our sense of style – classic with an unexpected twist.”
What is next for your business?
“To continue the adventure – to grow and expand while maintaining a high level of customer service. We have several new collaborations we’re excited about and we’re working on something big next for next year that will define and bolster the Mill Street brand even more!”
What do you think has been your greatest accomplishment thus far?
“We’ve established a good balance of our customer-first approach with staying true to who we are as a brand. And most importantly, having fun and enjoying our work.”
