Lindsay Phillips realized that a key element was missing in her desire for stylish athleisure: a super cute, functional hair tie that stayed accessible on her wrist without looking so, well, hair tie-ish. Which is how she came up with the idea for TELETIES. They designed their waterproof TELETIES to stretch as far as you need them, with a strong, yet gentle grip that won’t damage your hair or cause headaches. Check out our interview with her below!
What inspired you to start your business?
“I have been active all of my life and and could never find a hair tie that could hold my hair up and actually look cute on my wrist.”
What advice would you give a student or aspiring entrepreneur?
“Listen to your intuition. It’s usually always right.”
How has social media influenced or helped your business? Do you have an example?
“It’s been incredible. We feel blessed daily and don’t ever take it for granted. When I first launched the brand one of my good friends Ashley Brooke who is a social media influencer posted about TELETIES. She helped us launch the brand and we received 100 orders that day and a ton of followers.”
Who do you admire and why?
“I admire all Mom’s that work. It’s not easy being a mom and being a girl boss.”
What is next for your business?
“We have some very cool things in the works that will be happening in 2019, but for right now we are very excited about our Fall line launching September 1st. ;-)”
What do you think has been your greatest accomplishment thus far?
“Working hard, but also having fun doing it. We work all the time so it has to be enjoyable.”

“I love quotes. I read them daily. Right now I love “Make more moves, and less announcements.”’
